In its sixth year, HONOR’s annual appreciation luncheon continues to be a heartfelt tradition of gratitude, bringing together local first responders and community members in celebration of service, connection, and shared purpose. This year’s gathering carried forward the momentum of last year’s expanded honoree list, with Alpharetta, Milton, and Roswell’s law enforcement and fire personnel in attendance.
The event welcomed familiar faces and new ones alike, with the Ambassador Program continuing to grow in reach and impact.
This year’s events started with the launch of a new initiative: The HONOR 10-80 Challenge. This high-energy foot pursuit invited runners from Evans General Contractors, HONOR’s founder company and longtime supporter, to race toward the finish line while being chased by local law enforcement. Participants were also encouraged to raise funds to be donated to the local departments, blending friendly competition with community engagement, energizing supporters, and setting the tone for a season of impact.
Thanks to generous contributions from local businesses and the efforts of the Ambassador Program, HONOR raised $194,000 this season, surpassing its established $170,000 goal and marking its highest total to date. These funds directly benefit the police and fire departments, supporting their foundations and reinforcing their ability to serve the community with strength and resilience.
A solemn moment during the luncheon honored the fallen responders of the past year. Plaques were presented in remembrance of Detective Brian Smith from Alpharetta Police Department, Officer Jeremy Labonte from Roswell Police Department, FAE Shawn Webster, and Captain John Roach from Alpharetta Fire Department, and K9 Mattis from Alpharetta Police Department. Their service and sacrifice were acknowledged with deep respect.
As always, the thoughtful contributions of event partners and volunteers provided prize raffle items and “Hero Kits’’ for officers and fire teams, each curated with care and filled with meaningful gifts.
Six years in, the HONOR appreciation event remains a powerful reminder of what can happen when appreciation becomes tradition, and tradition becomes a movement.
